Cologne’s Donations Support the Expansion / Renovation

The good news about the expansion and renovation of the Caritas Baby Hospital reached Cologne long ago, and the cathedral city on the Rhine has busily used the time to mobilize substantial support. First Mayor Fritz Schramma recently arrived in Bethlehem to hand over a check for EUR 160,000. Of this, EUR 80,000 is earmarked for the expansion of the Caritas Baby Hospital; the rest will go to support projects for the treatment of children suffering from trauma.

The donations come from the 2007 Tour der Hoffnung (“Tour of Hope”), which focuses on helping children with leukemia and other types of cancer. VIPs from the worlds of politics, business and entertainment have all mounted a bicycle to gather contributions for this cause.

Medical Director Dr. Hiyam Marzouqa accepted the check for Children’s Relief Bethlehem. “This is a very special aid for the families of Bethlehem,” she said. “With the expansion and renovation, we will be able to provide even better facilities for the children’s quick recovery.”
